Check in with each other

Hello! Its Friday- in case you were wondering. I have almost lost track of which day of the week it is. For some the weekend stretches out full of the promise woo time at home with the family, a bit of catching up. Some dog walking maybe or some gardening. For others, the things they…

Rest

Good afternoon! Today has been a busy day for so many people. I’m hearing about lots of parents collecting children from University, or trying to organise childcare, or trying to organise support for elderly relatives, people sensing a “lockdown” round the corner- and trying to get everything done. And it can be really hard to…

Accept your feelings

Good afternoon! It’s a damp day and some of us are finding it hard to feel positive. Some of us are feeling anxious or afraid. Some of us want to curl up and hide. In the heart of God we have a safe space in which we can recognise and accept how we feel, pay…

Day of prayer – Sunday 22nd March – Archbishop of Canterbury

We are good in this country at holding our nerve and steadying one another. But a pandemic is something else; you can’t touch the virus, see it or even know where it is. It may be spread by those who don’t even know they are infected. It is very serious for some, very mild for…

Is there any good news? At the moment- as I write this on March 14th, we don’t know what the coming month will bring. Of course, we never know what the coming month will bring but at the moment life does seem especially unpredictable! We very much hope that we will be able to celebrate…

Please pray for Paul…

Paul and Jane Wilcox would appreciate prayer as Paul goes off to the Bishops’ Advisory Panel (BAP), 31 March – 1 April, in Ely. This is the final stage in the discernment process for ordination training. Subject to a ‘green light’ from the BAP, Paul will start training (though remain in this Benefice) in September.

CORONAVIRUS ADVICE

We have received guidance from the Diocese (via the Church of England and Public Health England) about how worship should be undertaken in the current situation concerning coronavirus and Covid-19. There is no need to suspend the exchange of the peace, but this should be done without physical contact.  We will continue to offer the…

Help us choose a name!

As you probably know, locally we have now become a group of four churches: Hallow, Lower Broadheath and Grimley with Holt – which is quite a mouthful!! Recently we decided it would be good to have a name for our new group: To reflect our identity as a group working together. To enable us to…
