Preparing for a new vicar

It has now been over 6 months since Rev Robert Latham retired and our Benefice has been in ‘interregnum’. This is a brief update on the process so far.

It was announced at that time that our Benefice would expand to include Christchurch, Lower Broadheath. We have, since then, gradually been involving Broadheath in activities and services in Hallow, Grimley and Holt and they have included us in things which they are doing.

The process of appointing a new vicar is a long and quite complicated process!

There have been several meetings taking place between the 4 PCCs over the last few months. This began with a ‘brainstorming’ meeting to discuss what is good (and bad!) about our 4 churches and what qualities we would like to find in our new vicar.

The PCCs then went away to produce a Parish Profile and ‘job’ description. This has now been agreed and has been passed to Archdeacon Robert Jones in readiness for publication. A date for interviewing candidates has been set as Friday 1st November.

We would then ask that you pray that the best person to lead our churches will come forward for interview!
