Good afternoon! Today has been a busy day for so many people. I’m hearing about lots of parents collecting children from University, or trying to organise childcare, or trying to organise support for elderly relatives, people sensing a “lockdown” round the corner- and trying to get everything done. And it can be really hard to stop- especially when things seem to be piling in on us in unpredictable ways. Many of us feel burdened and weary right now.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
As the day draws to a close, let’s try to leave our burdens at the foot of the cross, give thanks for what we have been able to do today, and commit our worries about tomorrow into God’s gracious hand.
